EveryScape Partners with Brighton Main Streets to Showcase Local Businesses

Brighton Comes to “The Real World Online”

BRIGHTON, Mass. (November 17, 2008) — Today, EveryScape, creator of “The Real World Online,” announced a partnership with Brighton Main Streets to showcase local businesses within EveryScape’s immersive photorealistic world. “The Real World Online” is the first interactive experience that lets anyone online explore Brighton’s interiors and exteriors by walking down streets and going inside local businesses and landmarks. Now with EveryScape visitors to Brighton can virtually walk through the community exploring storefronts, restaurants and hotels in full detail at www.everyscape.com and www.brightonmainstreets.org.

“EveryScape lets people discover new destinations and serves as an incredible resource that goes beyond traditional maps, reviews, videos and photos,” said Jim Schoonmaker, CEO of EveryScape, Inc. “Brighton’s strong student population provides a backdrop for an eclectic and youthful variety of shops, restaurants and hot spots. Now anyone planning a visit to Brighton or one of the world-class nearby universities can experience the area virtually from the comfort of their home or office.”

Brighton is the Western Gateway to the city of Boston. It’s a unique neighborhood that is made up of a wide variety of restaurants – with cuisines from around the world – from Greek to Hungarian and everything in between. Brighton Main Streets has been key in the restoration of the town – one that is accessible and pedestrian friendly. The ambiance is welcoming from a great morning cup of coffee to a refreshing pint of Guinness. There’s been a renaissance of the fine art of conversation – it’s a destination with a neighborhood feel. ..and affordable. Brighton is home to the World Wide New Balance headquarters, and media outlets such as WGBH, WBZ and Channel 38 -- all a big part of the community. What a better way to explore before you get here, than to experience downtown Brighton online as if you were actually here.

When Phase I launches in November, Web surfers will be able to visually explore Brighton exteriors, such as landmarks and neighborhood streets, find local businesses by category or name, as well as look up any location both at www.EveryScape.com and through its partner, www.brightonmainstreets.org. EveryScape recently incorporated enhanced features within “The Real World Online,” including a one-click meta search that serves as the gateway to the Web, World Tagging so businesses can upload their own photos and videos, and a larger viewing experience.

Phase II is currently underway, which offers local businesses the opportunity to showcase their physical locations with a “Storefront Listing” or with an enhanced “WebScape” that provides a 3-D experience of the businesses’ interiors. For Brighton, EveryScape is a unique marketing tool since prospective students and their parents as well as locals make their choices – for where to live, whether renting or owning a home, hotels, dining, entertainment, shopping, etc. – online before arriving. These listings also increase virtual foot traffic to a business location and offer business owners an opportunity to highlight restaurant menus, products, services and much more.

"Partnering with EveryScape gives anyone in the world instant access to Brighton Businesses,” said Rosie Hanlon, Executive Director of Brighton Main Streets. “From international businesses like New Balance to world class academic institutions to unique restaurants and retailers, Brighton has something to offer everyone. EveryScape is helping us bring Brighton’s welcoming atmosphere to the world with innovative new technology.”
